20th January 2007
Windsurfing: Poole Harbour
Wind Direction: W
Wind Stength: F4-5
Surf / Sea State: Flat
Air Temperature: 10
Sea Temperature: 10
Weather: Sunny
Max Speed: 20 (knots - unless stated otherwise)
Distance Covered: 18.2 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)

Went down to Avon with Juan and Roger T, got there about 11, high tide at 9.30, but since W, no wind to speak of! Was a wind line about 500m offshore, but nobody into paddling out :) Moved down to Branksome Chine, beautiful but windless weather. Amazing how the sand has totally covered the concrete steps/ramps from the last time I was there... Roger went home, Juan and I went on to try Sandbanks. Parked quite a way back, not down by the ferry end. Rain came in, and some proper wind, lots of people out.
Rigged up 5.5m, JP 91l, and got at it. Very gusty, but good fun in the gusts, very flat water (being the harbour and about 4ft deep!).
Most interestingly, this was the first time with my noo Garmin Foretrex 201, and it's v cool. Analysis with GPSar below... total sail time 2.21.
Managed to do a couple or more dry gybes, but still sinking the back end so they slow down and the board comes round too fast. More speed, more weight on front!
Good session. Stayed longer than I would have done because Juan was there, egging me on.
